WWE World Heavyweight Champion (2014–2015) Brock Lesnar

WWE World Heavyweight Champion  Brock Lesnar

On the edition of July 21, 2014 of Raw, Triple H announced that Lesnar would face John Cena at SummerSlam for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.[110] At SummerSlam, Lesnar defeated Cena to become the WWE World Heavyweight Champion. During the match, he delivered 16 suplexes (most of which were German suplexes) and two F-5s to Cena, who barely managed any offense.[111] On the August 19 episode ofMain Event, Triple H announced that Cena was invoking his championship rematch clause against Lesnar at Night of Champions. Lesnar wad disqualified due to Seth Rollins interfering, but retained his championship, which could not be lost via disqualification. Cena thereafter prevented Rollins from cashing in his Money in the Bankcontract on Lesnar.
Lesnar returned on the December 15 episode of Raw, attacking Chris Jericho, who had earlier challenged Paul Heyman, to a street fight. Lesnar took Jericho out with an F5 and then interfered in the main event, a steel cage match between Cena and Rollins, attacking Cena and helping Rollins to get the win. On the January 12, 2015, episode of Raw, Lesnar was curb-stomped by Rollins during their championship match contract signing that also included Cena. The following week, Lesnar openedRaw by calling Rollins out and demanding a fight. Later that same night, after attempting to get his hands on Rollins, he delivered F-5s to Kane and Big Show of The Authority. Lesnar retained the title against Rollins and Cena at the Royal Rumble, despite suffering a storyline broken rib during the match. Lesnar's next challenger wasRoman Reigns at WrestleMania 31, as Reigns won the 2015 Royal Rumble match and then a #1 contender match against Daniel Bryan at Fastlane.[112] Lesnar lost the WWE World Heavyweight Championship after Seth Rollins cashed in his Money in the Bank contract while the match was in progress, making it a triple threat; Rollins pinned Reigns to win the title.[113] The following night on Raw, Lesnar attacked commentators Booker T, JBL, Michael Cole, and a cameraman when Rollins turned down an immediate rematch, which led to Stephanie McMahon(kayfabe) suspending Lesnar indefinitely,[114] in order to give Lesnar time to physically recover from his match at WrestleMania.[115]
